Bicycle Brake Class

This session will concentrate on how the bikes brake system operates, types of brake systems, where and when different brake systems are used. We will learn to identify different pads for different brake systems, talk about different pad materials. Towards the end of the class we will start to adjust a road bike brake system.
The next Class, the 21st, will adjust V-brakes(linear pull brakes), and will continue on into disc brakes both mechanical and hydraulic. We will start the discussion on bleeding hydraulic brake systems and see how far we get. I will schedule the next class following this the class on the 21st. 9:00a.m.

Just a quick heads up, our winter mechanic and tech classes are now up and going. Last week we went over basic cleaning, lubrication, and a tire removal and tube patch. This Saturday we will continue on with a class centered around the drive train of a bicycle. We will identify the different components that make up a drive train, discuss operation of each piece, talk about installation and generally answer questions. This class will be in preparation for next weeks class where we will adjust a drive train from the ground up. Classes start at 9:00a.m. sharp and go for and hour ending at 10:00a.m..
